Samsung hasn’t issued an official fix, but these steps can save your phone’s battery life:
- Regularly clear the system cache partition: Switch off the phone, boot into recovery mode, and wipe the cache partition. This doesn’t affect your personal data, but it will wipe out corrupted post-update files.
- Check Settings > Battery for the worst offender. Look for any single app that uses a lot of battery in the background and force-stop or restrict it.
- Turn off Always On Display and drop your refresh rate. Both are easy to re-enable later and immediately reduce the baseline power draw.
- Pause automatic cloud backup. Several users report that due to switched-off scheduled backups, temporarily it drains battery usage, and it happens because background sync gets stuck repeatedly.
- Restart your phone. It won’t fix it, but a reboot can bring short-term relief for some.
When will Samsung release an official fix for it?
Samsung has not publicly admitted to the battery and overheating complaints, and there’s no official timeline for a patch. Given the pattern from April’s near-identical bug, the most realistic expectation is a fix bundled into Samsung’s August 2026 update.
